Pasir Ris Park
The third largest park in Singapore, the 79-ha Pasir Ris Park, is a sea-side park developed on reclaimed land and is separated into 3 main activity zones by two rivers, the Sungei Tampines and Sungei Api Api. Designed along with the theme of "Merry Holidays", it offers a beautiful coastal view and various opportunities for social, educational and cultural interactions.
The distinguishing feature of this park is the carefully preserved 6-ha mangrove swamp, an intergral part of the park right from the onset of the reclaimation process. Catwalks built in the swamp bring visitors into the heart of the swamp.
Visitors are able to learn about the inhabitants here, like the mud crabs and mudskippers, through interpretative signboards. A 3-storey observatory tower stands at the edge of this swamp and bird-watchers can look out for herons that perch and roost on the tree tops.
Here is also where you will find Singapore's largest children playground. A unique giant space-net, two cableways and a wide range of innovative play equipment will provide hours of fun for children of all ages. A specially designed maze garden will tempt the more adventurous amongst park visitors.
