TELOK BLANGAH HILL PARK

The theme of this 34-ha park is 'Recapturing The Past Splendour'. The park has a history that few other parks can boast of. A good example is the elegant colonial bungalow built by an Arab Trader. This is the Alkaff Mansion, now transformed into a restaurant, is a reminder of the past when trading communities used to flourish at the site since the early 19th century.

Originally part of Mount Faber, Telok Blangah Hill Park came about following the construction of Henderson Road, which cuts across the ridge that both parks once shared.

A Terrace Garden at the top of the park provides a magnificent view of Singapore. The Garden has a series of semi-circular terraces and the architectural designs of the terraces reflect the history of the park. Bougainvillea planted on each terrace adds a unique aesthetic dimension to the place.

The wide-open spaces under the spreading canopy of Raintrees offer an excellent spot for functions and activities to be held. It is a common site to see wedding couples posing for scenic moments to be remembered on photographic print.

Many bird lovers frequent the park either to sun their pets or do a bit of bird watching. On the eastern part of the ridge can be found a wide promenade, an ideal place for relaxation.
